How to Enable Auto Clean

Overview

Most tabs in Database Cleaner support Auto Clean — a scheduled cleanup that runs automatically at a frequency you choose. Once enabled, the plugin takes care of routine maintenance without any manual action.

Step 1: Open the desired tab

  • Go to DB Cleaner in your WordPress dashboard.
  • Select the tab you want to automate (e.g. Post Meta, User Meta, Comments, etc.).

Step 2: Select a frequency

  • At the top right of the data table, find the Auto Clean frequency dropdown.
  • Click on it to expand the available options.
  • Choose how often the cleanup should run (Daily, Weekly, etc.).
  • The setting is saved automatically — no need to click a separate Save button.

Step 3: Confirm Auto Clean is Active

  • When Auto Clean is active, a green AUTO badge appears next to the tab name in the sidebar.
  • Refresh the page if you don’t see the AUTO badge.
  • Database Cleaner will now run cleanups automatically at your chosen interval.

Important tips

  • Auto Clean only processes entries marked as Unused or Orphaned — it never touches data that is actively in use.
  • Make a database backup before enabling automatic cleanup for the first time.
  • Puoi regolare la frequenza in qualsiasi momento utilizzando lo stesso menu a tendina.
